Agent Development Kit (ADK) for Java

An open-source Java toolkit for building, evaluating and deploying AI agents in code, with tight integration into Google Cloud services.

Agent Development Kit (ADK) for Java

Agent Development Kit for Java is an open-source, code-first toolkit for developers who want fine-grained control when building AI agents that integrate closely with Google Cloud. Agent behavior, orchestration and tool use are defined directly in Java, which supports normal debugging, versioning and deployment from a laptop to the cloud.

It offers a rich tool ecosystem, including pre-built tools, custom functions and OpenAPI-based integrations, and supports modular multi-agent systems assembled from specialized agent hierarchies. It mirrors the interface of the existing Python ADK and includes a built-in development UI for testing, evaluating and debugging an agent, plus support for remote agent-to-agent communication through the A2A protocol. It installs as a Maven dependency and is licensed under Apache 2.0.

  • local-coder

    github.com

Builds a local coding-agent team on top of Ollama and OpenCode by detecting the machine's hardware, recommending models for seven specialist roles, and testing whether each assigned model can actually use tools, edit a repository and pass verification.
