Agentic Design Patterns

The complete materials for the book Agentic Design Patterns by Antonio Gulli, covering 21 chapters and 7 appendices on building AI agent systems, with accompanying code notebooks for hands-on learning.

Agentic Design Patterns

Agentic Design Patterns is a repository containing the complete materials for the book Agentic Design Patterns: A Hands-On Guide to Building Intelligent Systems, by Antonio Gulli, including all chapters as a PDF and accompanying Jupyter notebooks for hands-on practice. The author's royalties from the book are donated to Save the Children.

The 21 chapters and 7 appendices are organized into foundational patterns such as prompt chaining, routing and parallelization; advanced techniques including reflection, tool use, planning and multi-agent systems; memory management, learning and goal setting; production-oriented patterns such as exception handling, human-in-the-loop workflows and retrieval-augmented generation; and further material on optimization, reasoning techniques, guardrails and real-world applications from graphical interfaces to physical environments.

The repository is organized as a book PDF plus one code notebook per chapter.
