# Agents Squads

A command-line tool for running teams of AI agents, called squads, that share a goal and a persistent memory stored entirely as markdown files in a git repository.

A squad in Agents Squads is a team of AI agents playing different roles: a lead briefs the team, workers execute the task, and a verifier checks the output, with feedback from each cycle carried into the next run. Everything the squad knows and has done lives in git-tracked markdown files, which the CLI treats as both state and audit trail.

Before every run, an agent loads a context cascade of company strategy, squad goals, feedback from the previous cycle and active work across the team, scaled by role so lightweight scanning agents stay fast while leads see the full picture. The CLI shells out to native AI command-line tools such as claude, gemini and aider, so a squad can mix a cheap model for scanning, a stronger model for building and a mid-tier model for verification. It requires Node.js 20 or newer, Git and Claude Code as the default provider.
