AI Agents for Beginners

A free Microsoft course of eighteen lessons teaching the fundamentals of building AI agents, with Python code samples built around the Microsoft Agent Framework and Microsoft Foundry Agent Service.

AI Agents for Beginners

Each lesson pairs a written explanation and short video with runnable Python code samples, and points to further resources for going deeper; a companion course, Generative AI for Beginners, covers foundational generative-AI concepts in 21 separate lessons for those newer to the topic.

The repository is translated into more than fifty languages through an automated GitHub Action that keeps them current, and a sparse-checkout command is documented for cloning just the English material when the full translation set is not needed. Some samples also support OpenAI-compatible alternative providers, such as models with very large context windows.

Learners can ask questions in a dedicated Discord channel, and the project welcomes issues and pull requests for corrections. Jupyter Notebook, MIT licensed.
