# AI-written Haskell Compiler (aihc)

An experimental Haskell compiler, written incrementally by AI models, tracked as a percentage of the Stackage package set it can successfully build.

aihc is an attempt to see whether current AI models can write a working Haskell compiler, covering preprocessing, parsing, name resolution, type checking, desugaring and code generation. Progress is tracked as the percentage of Stackage packages each component can process.

The README lists live progress figures, including type-check and name-resolution test pass rates and a growing self-compile package list, showing which dependency-ordered packages currently install successfully, which fail with a specific error, and which are waiting on a failing dependency.

The project is split into sub-packages, each with its own README documenting supported language extensions. It is released under the Unlicense.
