# APEX Skills - Agentic Platform Engineering eXperience

A curated set of AWS platform-engineering skills, authored by AWS solutions architects and delivered through Claude Code or the Kiro CLI, meant to shorten onboarding for AWS and Kubernetes platform work.

APEX packages platform-engineering domain knowledge, drawn from AWS solutions architects, technical account managers and professional services, as agent skills following the open Agent Skills standard, so any compatible coding-agent harness can load them. The repository separates what the agent knows, skills; how it runs an engagement, steering material including slash commands, questionnaires and routing; and how it behaves, rules for verification, source-checking and guardrails; plus deployable example labs with planted issues to practice on.

An npx installer detects whether Claude Code or the Kiro CLI is present, clones the repository into a local folder, and symlinks the skills and steering material into the right locations, with flags to update, pin to a release or install from a branch. A separate, non-executable set of the same skills is repackaged for AWS's managed DevOps Agent for day-two operational use.
