Arctic Platform

A modular framework for post-training large language models, providing unified GPU backends and system optimizations for reinforcement learning that plug into existing training frameworks.

Arctic Platform

Arctic Platform addresses fragmentation in post-training frameworks for large language models by providing consistent, portable building blocks that plug into multiple existing frameworks rather than replacing them. It is meant to make reinforcement-learning performance optimizations portable across frameworks, instead of each one implementing its own backend and system optimizations from scratch.

The platform is being built out incrementally, starting with its reinforcement-learning components: a high-throughput training and inference backend called Arctic Reinforcement Learning that integrates into an existing RL framework's training loop, rollouts and reward computation while providing the compute engines underneath, plus two named optimizations for removing redundant prompt computation during training and redundant memory access during rollout. Additional trainers for supervised fine-tuning and distillation, along with synthetic data generation and cleaning pipelines, are planned next.

    github.com

A continual learning language model that trains from scratch on a single 8 GB VRAM GPU, assembling its own architecture and adapting its size to the hardware and data available rather than shipping as a fixed pretrained model.

  • An open-source contrastive-embedding pipeline that maps technical CVE vulnerability descriptions to formal cybersecurity compliance controls in NIST SP 800-53 and CMMC, published with its model generation, fine-tuning and evaluation code.

  • peekaboolean

    github.com

A small vision-language model, fine-tuned with LoRA on a 500-million-parameter backbone, that answers typed multiple-choice, ordinal-score and yes/no questions about an image with calibrated probabilities, in about 400 milliseconds on a laptop.
