Autoflux

A lightweight Ruby framework for building AI agent workflows as a state machine, with a pluggable agent and I/O interface and an OpenAI-backed agent implementation included.

Autoflux

Autoflux is a lightweight AI agent framework for Ruby, installed as the autoflux gem. It provides a default state machine for a chat-style workflow -- start, command, agent, and stop states -- driven by a Workflow object that pairs an agent with an I/O adapter and runs until the input reaches end-of-file.

An agent is any object with #name and #call methods, and a workflow can hold multiple agents and switch between them at runtime, for example from inside a tool the current agent calls. A separate autoflux-openai package supplies a ready-made OpenAI-backed agent, and a minimal standard I/O adapter is included for building a simple console chat loop.

The project warns that its API may change at any time while agentic workflow support is still being designed.

Builds a local coding-agent team on top of Ollama and OpenCode by detecting the machine's hardware, recommending models for seven specialist roles, and testing whether each assigned model can actually use tools, edit a repository and pass verification.
