Awesome Agent Harness

A curated list of tools, frameworks and resources for agent harness engineering: designing the environments, constraints and feedback loops that make AI coding agents reliable at scale.

Awesome Agent Harness

Awesome Agent Harness collects tools, frameworks and resources for what it calls agent harness engineering, the discipline of building the infrastructure that wraps around an LLM coding agent: session management, context delivery, tool design, architectural enforcement, failure recovery and human oversight. It draws its core principles from two sources it cites directly, OpenAI's harness-engineering writing and Anthropic's Claude Code tool-design writing, and states eight core principles drawn from them, including that humans steer while agents execute, that repository knowledge is the system of record, that an AGENTS.md file should point to deeper sources rather than contain everything, and that fewer, more expressive tools beat a long menu of narrow ones.

Its contents are organized into full-lifecycle platforms, agent orchestrators, task runners, agent-harness frameworks, agent runtimes, agent knowledge and memory tools, and coding agents.

  • Recurse

    recurse.run

A serverless harness that lets a coding agent design, test, and deploy its own specialist sub-agents as tools, MCP servers, or bots, defined by a schema-validated manifest.

  • ProofForge

    shulgin.is-a.dev

An AI-agent pipeline that decomposes a mathematics problem, proves each piece, and formalizes the result in Lean 4 and Mathlib until the Lean kernel accepts it, with six of its proofs already merged into Google DeepMind's formal-conjectures repository.

  • local-coder

    github.com

Builds a local coding-agent team on top of Ollama and OpenCode by detecting the machine's hardware, recommending models for seven specialist roles, and testing whether each assigned model can actually use tools, edit a repository and pass verification.
