Be the Emperor

An open-source multi-agent collaboration system, modeled on imperial Chinese court bureaucracy, that deploys and coordinates specialized AI agents on top of OpenClaw.

Be the Emperor

Be the Emperor (Dang Huangshang) is an open-source multi-agent collaboration system built with the OpenClaw agent framework, structured around Chinese imperial court governance instead of a conventional org chart. A single server running OpenClaw becomes a round-the-clock "AI court": the user plays the role of emperor, and specialized agents act as ministers who receive instructions and carry out work when mentioned in Discord or Feishu.

It offers a choice of three role systems at install time: a Ming-dynasty cabinet structure with eighteen agents for fast iteration on personal projects, a Tang-dynasty three-department structure with fourteen agents emphasizing checks and review, and a modern-enterprise structure with fourteen agents for startup teams, plus an optional five-agent group that collaborates on writing fiction. Default Discord configuration restricts bots to responding only when directly mentioned, to prevent bots from triggering each other in a loop.

It is written in TypeScript and released under the MIT license.
