# BeadBoard

A multi-agent orchestration and communication layer built on the Beads task tracker, with a live dashboard, a command-line orchestrator host, and a built-in runtime that can spawn and manage agent workers directly.

BeadBoard lets AI agents claim tasks, exchange structured mail with each other, track dependencies between tasks, and close work only once they have recorded supporting evidence. Its command-line tool hosts the orchestrator and manages agent communication, a dashboard shows the coordination happening live, and a bundled execution runtime can spawn and manage agent workers directly; the underlying task tracking is provided by the separate Beads project.

An installable skill teaches a compatible coding agent a nine-step operating contract covering dependency-constrained task coordination, structured agent-to-agent messages such as handoff, blocked, decision and info, scope-based work reservations with conflict resolution, realtime progress tracking through heartbeats, and an evidence-required workflow that prevents an agent from closing work without verification.

It is written in TypeScript and released under the MIT license; its built-in orchestrator component is still under construction.
