# BrowserOS

An open-source, Chromium-based second browser built specifically for AI agents, importing a user's real logins so Claude Code, Codex and other agents can run web tasks in parallel tabs while sessions record for replay.

BrowserOS is an open-source, Chromium-based browser meant to sit alongside a person's main browser as a dedicated place for AI agents to work. Importing a user's logins, bookmarks and extensions from Chrome in one click lets connected agents, including Claude Code, Codex and other MCP-capable tools, act on the person's real accounts from the first task rather than a blank sandbox.

Each agent task runs in its own tab, so several agents can work in parallel while the user keeps browsing normally; a live dashboard in a new tab shows what every running agent is doing and how far along it is, and every session is recorded as a video with a step-by-step action timeline that can be rewound and replayed later. All session data, screenshots and history are stored only on the local machine.

It is installed through Homebrew or as a direct download for macOS and Windows, and is positioned as a lighter-weight alternative to running an agent through a browser extension inside an existing Chrome install.
