# CAD-MCP Server

An MCP server that lets AI assistants control AutoCAD, GstarCAD and ZWCAD through natural-language instructions, covering drawing, editing, layers, blocks and queries.

CAD-MCP is a Model Context Protocol server that connects AI assistants to CAD software so drawings can be created and modified through natural-language instructions rather than manual interface operations. It supports AutoCAD, GstarCAD and ZWCAD, and version 2.0 adds 35 tools built on the latest MCP specification, including structured output, tool annotations, progress notifications and Streamable HTTP transport.

Its tools cover basic drawing such as lines, circles, arcs, ellipses, rectangles, polylines, text, pattern fills and dimensions; queries that let the AI see the actual drawing content such as layers and entity properties; editing operations like erase, move, rotate, scale, copy, mirror, offset and array; layer and drawing management; block operations; and a command passthrough for anything not otherwise covered.

It supports both local stdio and remote streamable-HTTP transport, marks read-only and destructive tools separately for client confirmation, and returns input validation errors as tool errors so the model can self-correct.
