ChatGPT Route Inspector

A Chromium browser extension that shows which model actually answered a ChatGPT request, so a Pro user can check whether their request was routed to a cheaper model.

ChatGPT Route Inspector

ChatGPT Route Inspector is a browser extension for Chromium browsers that reads the model information already present in ChatGPT's own requests and responses, showing the model a message was sent to alongside the model the server reports actually answered. It flags when a response was routed to an auto-reasoning variant.

It can re-read an existing conversation after a refresh, overlay results directly on the ChatGPT page in several display modes, and keep a local diagnostic log that exports to Markdown or JSON. It also decodes the proof-of-work difficulty value ChatGPT sometimes returns.

All detection records stay in the local browser and are not uploaded anywhere; the extension does not request debugger access and does not modify ChatGPT's requests, responses, or model selection. It is an independent, unofficial project with no affiliation to OpenAI.
