# Claude.ai MCP Integration

The communication channel for Anthropic's Model Context Protocol integration in Claude.ai: an announcements and issue tracker for protocol changes, session behavior, and MCP server or integration bugs.

This repository is where developers follow technical changes to MCP support in Claude.ai and report bugs or request features related to it. Subscribing to its Discussions announcements category surfaces protocol changes such as SSE deprecation or Streamable HTTP updates, session lifecycle changes, new MCP capabilities, and security updates.

It covers connecting MCP servers to Claude.ai, session initialization, reconnection and lifecycle behavior, transport support for SSE and Streamable HTTP, how Claude.ai discovers and invokes MCP tools and resources, and OAuth token handling. It explicitly excludes the MCP specification itself, MCP SDKs, and general non-MCP Claude.ai issues, which are handled elsewhere.
