Cloudflare Computer
A virtual filesystem backed by a Durable Object's SQLite state, giving an AI agent a pluggable execution surface: a sandboxed container, an isolated shell, or isolated JavaScript.
Cloudflare Computer is a virtual filesystem that lives inside a Durable Object, holding authoritative state in SQLite and exposing one pluggable execution surface called workspace.runtime. Three backends ship today: a container that mounts the state as a real FUSE filesystem with a full Linux userland, an isolated shell running bash in a Dynamic Worker, and isolated JavaScript running an ECMAScript module with structured input and results.
A single workspace can register multiple backends under stable IDs, and workspace.runtime.exec is the one entry point for running either a shell command or a JavaScript module against the chosen backend; a workspace can also be used purely as a filesystem, with no backend at all.
The project is an unstable preview meant for experiments and prototypes rather than production use, and its documentation describes intended, forward-looking design as well as the code as it exists today.
