codex-provider-sync

A utility that keeps a Codex CLI installation's session files and local SQLite chat index aligned with the AI model provider currently configured.

codex-provider-sync

codex-provider-sync fixes a specific problem: after switching which model provider a Codex CLI setup points to, old session files and the local SQLite chat index can still reference the previous provider, so they may fail to continue. The tool detects this mismatch and rewrites the provider metadata in session files and the database to match the current configuration, without touching chat content, login files, or the history of which model was used.

It ships as a Windows desktop app, a local web UI reachable at a loopback address, and a command-line tool, all sharing the same sync, switch, backup, and restore logic. Every change is backed up automatically first, and backups can be restored or cleaned up later. It does not perform authentication itself and does not guarantee a session will keep working across providers or accounts, only that stored provider metadata is consistent.
