# codexapp

A lightweight bridge that exposes the Codex desktop app's user interface in a browser, running on Linux, Windows or Termux on Android.

codexapp starts a local web server that serves the same interface as the Codex desktop app, so it can be opened from a browser on the same machine, over the local network, or remotely. Running it with a single command also opens a Cloudflare tunnel by default, printing the tunnel address, a scannable QR code and a password together at startup, with a flag available to skip the tunnel when it is not wanted, and another flag to skip forcing a fresh Codex login when an already authenticated provider or gateway is in use.

On Android, it runs inside Termux and needs battery optimization disabled for Termux and its persistent notification left in place so the operating system does not kill the background process, with an optional wake-lock command recommended to keep the session alive; if the process is still killed, restarting the same command resumes it. Reaching the interface securely from an iPhone or iPad's browser is also documented through Tailscale Serve.

It is written in TypeScript and released under the MIT license.
