Daytona

Daytona is an infrastructure runtime that provisions secure, isolated sandboxes for running AI-generated code, giving each one a full kernel, filesystem and network stack that starts in under ninety milliseconds.

Daytona

Sandboxes are built on OCI and Docker compatibility, support massive parallelization and persistent state snapshots, and run Python, TypeScript and JavaScript workloads with predictable, isolated environments suited to agent workflows. Agents and developers interact with them through SDKs, a REST API and a CLI, covering sandbox lifecycle management, filesystem operations, process and code execution, and configuration through base images and packages.

A platform layer adds organizations, API keys, usage limits, billing, audit logs and OpenTelemetry integration for teams standardizing on the runtime, human-facing tools include a dashboard, web terminal, SSH and VNC access, and agent-facing tools include an MCP server, git operations, a language server protocol connection and computer-use support.

Written across multiple languages with no single dominant one recorded; unspecified license.

  • Drop

    droprun.sh

A rootless Linux sandbox for developers, built on user namespaces with optional gVisor isolation, that confines coding agents and third-party packages without leaving your normal work environment.

  • minienv

    github.com

Reads an existing docker compose file and deploys it as a remote preview environment with little setup, with optional public endpoints and authentication so others can review in-flight work.

  • Rig

    npmjs.com

Gives each coding agent, such as Claude Code, Cursor or Codex, its own cloud Linux desktop with a running dev server, tests and a signed-in Chrome, so the developer's laptop stays free while several agents work at once.
