dbt Agent Skills is a curated collection of Agent Skills for working with dbt. Each skill is a folder of instructions, scripts and resources that a compatible agent discovers and loads automatically once installed, matched to what a user's prompt is asking for in natural language, rather than being invoked as a slash command.
Included skills cover analytics engineering, such as building and modifying dbt models, writing tests and exploring data sources; the semantic layer, including creating metrics, dimensions and semantic models with MetricFlow; dbt Mesh, for multi-project setups, cross-project references and model governance; platform operations, such as troubleshooting job failures and configuring the dbt MCP server; and migration from dbt Core to dbt version 2.
It installs through the Claude Code plugin marketplace, the Vercel Skills CLI for more than 30 supported agents, or the Tessl package manager, and is licensed under Apache 2.0.
