# DeepSeek MCP Server

An MCP server exposing DeepSeek's V4.1 Flash API — text and visual chat, the Responses API, fill-in-the-middle completion, file uploads and model or balance lookups — as eleven tools.

This MCP server wraps DeepSeek's current V4.1 Flash API, using the stable MCP TypeScript SDK v2 and serving both the newer protocol and stateless legacy clients. It exposes eleven tools: chat_completion and create_response for text or visual chat with thinking controls, function and tool calling, JSON output and streaming; completion for fill-in-the-middle code completion; list_models and get_user_balance for account information; upload_file, list_files, retrieve_file and delete_file for the Files API; and reset_conversation and list_conversations for bounded in-memory conversation state.

"Multimodal" here refers only to image understanding through Chat Completions and the Responses API; the server does not generate images, video or audio. It runs over stdio with Node.js 20 or newer, and can be added to Codex CLI or Claude Code directly.
