# deepx-code

A single-binary terminal coding agent built natively around DeepSeek's API, with a built-in code graph for symbol-level navigation, local OCR for reading screenshots, and configurable working-mode methodologies.

deepx-code is a terminal coding agent built natively for DeepSeek's API while remaining OpenAI-compatible, distributed as a single Go binary with no Node or Python runtime required. It ships a built-in code graph that resolves symbol-level go-to-definition, call-finding, interface implementations, and impact analysis using Go's own type-checking tools rather than repository-wide text search, and a local optical-character-recognition component that reads text from a pasted screenshot without a multimodal API call.

It routes automatically between a fast and a stronger model tier depending on task complexity, and is designed around DeepSeek's prompt-cache pricing to keep long sessions cheap. Sessions persist losslessly, including tool calls and reasoning content, with automatic layered compression as the context window fills. Reusable scripted workflows can chain multiple agents together, and file-write and shell commands default to requiring confirmation. It runs inside an OS-level sandbox by default, or an optional container-based sandbox.

It supports MCP and is compatible with Claude's skill directory and workflow script conventions.
