# DSHIOS

An experimental iOS app that runs DeepSeek Harness, a coding-agent CLI, entirely on an iPad or iPhone by embedding the iSH-ARM64 Linux emulator, booting Alpine Linux with Node.js, and showing the harness's own web UI in an in-app browser view.

DSHIOS is a native iOS app that boots a bundled Alpine Linux image inside the iSH-ARM64 userspace Linux emulator, installs Node.js 22 and the @deepseek-ai/dsh package, supervises the dsh web process, and displays the harness's own web interface in a WKWebView. The agent loop, sessions, tools and shell all run on the device itself; model requests go out over the standard DeepSeek API using the credentials configured inside the harness.

A supervised-server layer picks a free port, probes for HTTP readiness, restarts the process with backoff after a crash, and shows a live log tail during startup. When an app update ships a new guest image, it is imported as a fresh root while session data, credentials and settings under ~/.dsh and the workspace carry over automatically. Because the JavaScript engine runs jitless under iOS restrictions, the app ships a custom fetch() polyfill to support streaming LLM responses.

The author describes the project as experimental, with limited performance, and states it will not be submitted to the App Store; building it requires downloading the source.
