# EGC

A local-first runtime that gives every AI coding tool on a machine, such as Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot and Aider, one shared encrypted memory, safety layer and live session bus, kept per project and never committed to git.

EGC installs once and detects the AI coding tools present on a machine, registering two local MCP servers in each and writing the memory protocol every supported agent reads. Decisions, session context and learned lessons captured in one tool become available in any other terminal, IDE or agent the same person opens, using natural-language requests such as saving a session or recalling what was decided about a topic, and its memory is stored in an encrypted local folder, kept per project and branch and never committed to git.

A session mesh lets open sessions, such as two editor tabs and a terminal, announce what they are working on, claim files they edit, and hand off work so parallel sessions cooperate instead of colliding, while a component called Guardian validates commands before they run, gates risky writes and keeps context from overflowing without being explicitly invoked. It works natively with a range of model providers including Claude, GPT-4o, Gemini, DeepSeek, Mistral, Groq, Cohere and Vertex AI, plus OpenRouter for further models.

It installs from npm, supports more than 20 AI coding tools, and its interface is offered in a large number of languages.
