Eta

A third-party Android AI agent that can call system APIs, run a terminal, browse the web and act inside other apps, extended with Skills and MCP tools and using your own model API key.

Eta

Eta is a third-party, system-level AI agent for Android. It combines the autonomous planning of coding agents with GUI-agent style control of other apps, and can call Android system APIs directly to set alarms, control media and adjust volume, or use a GUI agent to tap, scroll and type based on the accessibility tree and screenshots. It ships a built-in browser for reading and interacting with web pages, and a terminal with an Android shell or an Alpine/Debian Linux environment for running commands, scripts and long-lived tasks.

An Agent Runtime orchestrates model calls, tool execution and results for both the chat interface and the system assistant entry point, and supports Skills installed from GitHub repositories or local ZIP files, plus remote MCP tools over Streamable HTTP. It requires Android 14 or later and a user-supplied model API key; Root and LSPosed unlock deeper system access but are optional. It also has an optional persona mode compatible with tavern-style character cards.

    github.com

Builds a local coding-agent team on top of Ollama and OpenCode by detecting the machine's hardware, recommending models for seven specialist roles, and testing whether each assigned model can actually use tools, edit a repository and pass verification.
