Expected Parrot Domain-Specific Language (EDSL)
A Python domain-specific language for designing and running surveys and experiments with many AI agents and language models at once, for computational social science and market research.
EDSL declares question types such as multiple choice without hand-writing a JSON schema, and runs them against many AI agent personas and language models in a single call, producing results as structured datasets with built-in analysis, visualization and collaboration methods.
Prompts can be parameterized with "scenarios" of data imported automatically from sources such as CSV, PDF and PNG files, so the same question is run across a set of inputs. An Expected Parrot account gives access to a universal remote cache of stored responses for reproducing results, and either a user's own model API keys or a single Expected Parrot key that reaches all supported models.
Coop, a companion platform from Expected Parrot, lets workflows and survey results be shared and stored for free. It installs with pip install edsl and supports Python 3.9 through 3.13.
