Generative AI for Beginners

Generative AI for Beginners is a 21-lesson course that teaches the fundamentals of building generative AI applications. Each lesson stands on its own and covers a single topic, either explaining a generative AI concept or walking through code examples in Python and TypeScript.

Lessons can be run using Azure OpenAI Service, Microsoft Foundry Models, the OpenAI API, or Foundry Local for running models fully offline without a cloud subscription. A setup lesson helps configure the development environment, each lesson links to further learning material, and a companion collection of code samples covers more advanced scenarios in both languages.

The course is maintained by Microsoft and translated into more than 50 languages. It is MIT licensed.
