gptme-agent-template

A starter git repository for creating a persistent, autonomous AI agent built on gptme, giving the agent its own workspace, identity file and architecture notes that it can read and help extend over time.

gptme-agent-template

gptme-agent-template is a template repository for building an agent based on gptme. Forking it creates a new agent with its own identity: the agent's personality and goals live in an ABOUT.md file, its voice and stance in a short SOUL.md file, and its harness and architecture in ARCHITECTURE.md, all of which the agent can read and is encouraged to help improve.

The repository doubles as the agent's workspace, where it writes its own thoughts, plans and ideas as it runs. A dependency-check script verifies or installs the required tools, including git, Python 3.10+, pipx, uv and the gptme framework itself, and the agent's context is loaded automatically through a configuration file.

  • local-coder

    github.com

Builds a local coding-agent team on top of Ollama and OpenCode by detecting the machine's hardware, recommending models for seven specialist roles, and testing whether each assigned model can actually use tools, edit a repository and pass verification.
