Grantex

Grantex is an open-source delegated authorization protocol for AI agents: it gives each agent a verifiable identity and scoped, revocable authority to act for a human or organization, with an immutable audit trail, complementing OAuth 2.0 and MCP rather than replacing either.

Grantex

Where OAuth handles application and user authorization and MCP connects models to tools, Grantex is meant to answer a narrower question: which agent may perform which action on behalf of which principal, verifiable by the service that receives the request. A universal SDK and cloud service let a relying service check an agent's grant, and the repository includes support for principal-controlled prepaid wallets that let a human constrain an agent's spending by recipient, resource, action, budget group and approval requirement, reserving funds atomically in PostgreSQL and tying authorizations to the agent's own OAuth identity.

The project documents specific gaps in one integration path, noting that a business-onboarding integration does not yet enforce certain token-level spending caps even though the published library already contains the corresponding APIs, and that neither the repository nor an MCP tool grants an agent the authority to approve a case as a human would.

It is open source and written largely in TypeScript.
