# graphify

A command-line tool and coding-agent skill that parses a codebase, its docs, PDFs and configuration files into a local knowledge graph that can be queried, browsed or explained instead of grepped.

graphify turns a codebase, together with its documentation, SQL schemas, configuration files and PDFs, into a knowledge graph. It installs as a skill inside an AI coding assistant, such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or Gemini CLI, or is run from its own CLI, and produces a browsable HTML graph, a written report of key concepts and connections, and a JSON file of the full graph that can be queried later.

Code is parsed locally with tree-sitter into an AST, without an LLM or data leaving the machine; documents, images and video use the assistant's model, or a configured API key, for a semantic pass. Each connection in the graph is marked as either read directly from the source or inferred, communities of related concepts are detected with the Leiden algorithm, and the graph can be queried, traced between two points, or asked to explain a concept, all without a vector store.

It is written in Python and Apache-2.0 licensed.
