guardrail

guardrail is a code generator that turns OpenAPI and Swagger specification files into Scala and Java client and server code for frameworks such as akka-http, http4s, dropwizard and spring-mvc.

guardrail

guardrail reads OpenAPI and Swagger specification files and generates source code targeting several Scala and Java web libraries: Scala's akka-http and http4s (both backed by circe) and dropwizard (backed by jackson), and Java's dropwizard and spring-mvc (both backed by jackson).

It is available through build-tool plugins for sbt, Maven and Gradle, and as a standalone CLI installable via Coursier. The project is modularized, using sbt-version-policy to keep binary compatibility between its core, per-language support modules, and per-framework modules, so a project can depend on only the generators it needs. Compatible library versions for each target framework are tracked separately from the guardrail release itself.
