html-video
An Apache-2.0 tool that lets a local coding agent turn HTML, CSS and data into a real MP4 video on your own machine, using pluggable render engines and a library of animated templates.
html-video lets a local coding agent, such as Open Design, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or the Anthropic API, turn a description, an article link or a GitHub repository into a multi-frame animated video, then render it to a real MP4 on your machine. It ships with 21 templates spanning data charts, title cards, hero sections, cinematic frames, VFX text and outros, plus an optional AI-generated soundtrack.
The default render engine is Hyperframes, which renders HTML and CSS animations to MP4 through headless Chromium and ffmpeg; support for other HTML-to-video engines such as Remotion and Motion Canvas is planned. The project charges no per-render fees and has no vendor lock-in, and is maintained as an official project by the Open Design team.
