kubefwd (Kube Forward)

A command-line tool that bulk port-forwards every Kubernetes service in a namespace to a unique local loopback IP, so local code reaches them by their in-cluster service names.

kubefwd (Kube Forward)

kubefwd enables developers to work on their local machine while accessing services running in a Kubernetes cluster, reducing or eliminating environment-specific connection setup during local development. It discovers every service in a namespace, assigns each one its own unique loopback IP address, updates the local hosts file with the matching service names, and establishes port forwards through the Kubernetes API, so an application's existing connection strings work the same locally as they do in the cluster.

Because each service gets its own IP instead of sharing one address, there are no port conflicts between services that happen to listen on the same port. An interactive terminal UI shows real-time traffic metrics and streams pod logs while forwarding is active, forwarding automatically reconnects if a pod restarts or a connection drops, and a REST API and Model Context Protocol support allow the same bulk forwarding to be controlled programmatically.

  • Drop

    droprun.sh

A rootless Linux sandbox for developers, built on user namespaces with optional gVisor isolation, that confines coding agents and third-party packages without leaving your normal work environment.

  • minienv

    github.com

Reads an existing docker compose file and deploys it as a remote preview environment with little setup, with optional public endpoints and authentication so others can review in-flight work.

  • Rig

    npmjs.com

Gives each coding agent, such as Claude Code, Cursor or Codex, its own cloud Linux desktop with a running dev server, tests and a signed-in Chrome, so the developer's laptop stays free while several agents work at once.
