Large Language Models for Scientific Research

This repository holds part one of a two-part course on large language models for scientific research. It introduces how LLMs work, how they can be used, and how they can be trained, aimed at readers with no assumed background in the underlying mathematics or programming.

The material includes lecture slides used in an in-person workshop and companion notebooks, with a second part providing a more comprehensive hands-on tutorial for applying LLMs to scientific research. It is licensed under GPL-3.0.
