# LibDriver MLX90614

A full-featured driver library for the MLX90614 infrared thermometer sensor, for general-purpose microcontrollers and Linux, providing temperature and device ID reading over an IIC interface.

LibDriver MLX90614 is a driver for the MLX90614 infrared thermometer, a noncontact temperature sensor with a 17-bit ADC and built-in DSP that ships factory-calibrated and defaults to SMBus output. The library provides temperature reading, device ID reading and other sensor features, and is written to be MISRA compliant.

The repository is organized into source files, a platform-independent IIC interface template to implement for a given board, driver test code that exercises the chip's functions, example code for basic and advanced use, offline documentation, the sensor datasheet, and sample projects for common Linux and MCU development boards that use shell scripts to drive the examples.

To use it, a developer implements the IIC platform template for their hardware, then adds the source, interface and, optionally, example directories to their project.
