# Library Skills

A package manager that installs and keeps up to date the official AI agent skills that a Python or JavaScript library ships alongside its own releases, so a coding agent uses current APIs instead of outdated training data.

Library Skills scans a project's installed dependencies, finds which ones ship their own AI agent skills, and reports the current installation status. It can install new skills, repair symlinks that point at old skill locations, and remove symlinks for packages whose skills disappeared, while leaving hand-authored skill directories untouched.

Skills are installed as symbolic links so that updating a library also updates its skill, and because the links are relative, a project with a stable local install can commit them to Git. By default it targets the agent-neutral .agents/skills directory, and adds .claude/skills automatically when a project already has a .claude directory, since Claude Code does not read the standard .agents location.

It is distributed as a Python package runnable with uvx, and as an npm package runnable with npx, and a --copy option is available where symlinks are not practical, such as on Windows without developer mode.
