LLM Wiki: Build Your AI Second Brain

A step-by-step guide to building a personal knowledge base out of plain markdown files, using Claude Code to ingest clipped articles into an Obsidian vault that links new material to what exists.

LLM Wiki: Build Your AI Second Brain

The guide walks through creating an Obsidian vault with a raw folder for source material, installing the Obsidian Web Clipper to save articles directly into that folder, and opening the vault in Claude Code so it can build a CLAUDE.md schema, an index and a log file. A single prompt tells Claude Code to act as an LLM Wiki agent and set up the vault's structure, based on an idea originally described by Andrej Karpathy.

Ongoing use is a short loop: clip or drop a new source into the raw folder, tell Claude Code to ingest it, and it creates linked wiki pages and updates the index, viewable as a graph in Obsidian. The approach uses no vector database or other infrastructure, only markdown files that accumulate structure over time, and includes a prompt for running a health check that finds gaps and unlinked entities.
