# madeui

An open-source UI component library whose 59 components are copied into your project as editable source files, built on Base UI and StyleX with typed design tokens.

madeui is a component library where components are copied into a project as editable files instead of installed as a package, so there is nothing to depend on and anything can be edited directly. It is built on Base UI for headless behavior and accessibility and on StyleX for compile-time atomic CSS, and ships 59 components from Button and Dialog through Combobox, Command palette, Drawer, Toast, Calendar, Date Picker, Carousel, Resizable and Chart.

Every color, space, type and motion value comes from a typed design-token scale, so a token that does not exist is a type error rather than a runtime mistake, and dark mode is handled through light-dark() color pairs switched by color-scheme rather than per-component styling. Every component shares a consistent variant, size and style-prop API. A CLI wires the StyleX build into a Next.js or Vite project and copies in tokens and chosen components, and can write the project's styling rules into an AGENTS.md file so coding agents follow them too.

It requires React 19 and Node 22.12+, and is MIT licensed.
