# MCP Go SDK

The official Go software development kit for building Model Context Protocol clients and servers, maintained in collaboration with Google.

MCP Go SDK provides an `mcp` package for constructing and using MCP clients and servers, a `jsonrpc` package for implementing custom transports, an `auth` package with OAuth primitives, and an `oauthex` package with OAuth extensions such as protected-resource metadata. It aims to implement the full MCP spec, with documentation mapping the spec to each package.

Different SDK version ranges support different MCP spec versions back to 2024-11-05, and the roots, sampling and logging features are deprecated as of protocol version 2026-07-28 but remain supported during a twelve-month deprecation window. New SDK releases target only currently supported Go versions.

It is written in Go.
