# MCP Memory Keeper

A Model Context Protocol server that gives Claude Code and other AI coding assistants persistent memory across sessions, storing project history, decisions and progress in a local, SQLite-backed store shared across parallel sessions.

MCP Memory Keeper is a Model Context Protocol server that adds persistent context management to Claude Code and other AI coding assistants. It stores conversation history, architectural decisions and task progress locally, so context that would otherwise be lost when a session compacts or restarts stays available.

The stored context works as a shared board: several Claude sessions can read and write the same memory store, so one session can research while another implements, or a session that runs out of context can resume from a saved checkpoint. Custom commands and project instructions can be written to save checkpoints automatically at defined points in a workflow.

It installs through the Claude Code MCP integration (claude mcp add) or as an npm package, and keeps its data under a local directory on disk.
