# mcpstore

A Rust-built control plane and data plane for managing MCP services, letting a resource-constrained host attach only the data plane and call already-shared MCP services with no local maintenance.

mcpstore mirrors a Kubernetes-style split between a control plane that handles orchestration and a data plane that focuses purely on invocation, giving it a low-overhead way to add, connect, restart or remove MCP services from the command line, inspect configuration, or open a web UI. It can also expose an HTTP API for programmatic access, and a beta desktop application provides the same control-plane management visually.

A Python SDK and a Rust library let an application embed mcpstore directly, converting its managed MCP tools into the format expected by LangChain, LangGraph, OpenAI, AutoGen, CrewAI or LlamaIndex, and scoping tool access per agent. It installs via npm or a shell script for the CLI, or as a Python package for the SDK.
