# Memorix

A local-first, shared project memory layer for coding agents, accessible through MCP, that keeps session summaries, git history and design decisions searchable across tools and sessions.

Memorix gives coding agents a shared, searchable project memory that survives new chat sessions, IDE switches and handoffs between tools, stored under the Git project rather than inside a single chat window. A user can work in Claude Code, then Codex, then Cursor, and the underlying project memory stays the same across all of them.

Its Git Memory feature turns commits into searchable engineering facts, its Reasoning Memory stores why a design decision was made along with the alternatives considered, and an orchestration mode coordinates task context, handoffs, locks, verification and review across parallel agent work. It is local-first with SQLite as its canonical store, using an in-process index for small projects and a persistent full-text index, with an optional local semantic index, for larger ones; LLM-backed memory formation and embedding are optional.
