# Minuet

An Emacs package that adds as-you-type code completion from LLMs, supporting chat-based completion prompts and fill-in-the-middle completion across providers including OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Ollama, Llama.cpp, and Codestral.

Minuet brings LLM-powered code completion to Emacs, with two completion modes: specialized prompts tuned for chat-based models, and fill-in-the-middle completion for models that support it, such as DeepSeek, Codestral, and some Ollama models. It streams suggestions so completions can arrive even from slower models, accepts multi-line suggestions line by line, and keeps a suggestion in sync with further typing instead of discarding it, reducing repeated requests.

It supports OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Codestral, Ollama, Llama.cpp, and other OpenAI-compatible providers, with both a minibuffer frontend and an overlay ghost-text frontend for previewing suggestions. An experimental feature adds next-edit prediction alongside ordinary completion.

It requires a recent Emacs build with native JSON support, and is distributed through GNU ELPA and MELPA under the GPL-3.0 license.
