# multi-agent-shogun

A samurai-themed orchestration system that runs up to ten AI coding CLI agents, such as Claude Code, Codex and Copilot, in parallel through tmux, coordinated in a manager and worker hierarchy.

multi-agent-shogun runs several AI coding CLI agents at once, organized in a hierarchy modeled on a feudal Japanese army: a Shogun issues an order, a Karo (manager) breaks it into tasks, and a set of Ashigaru (worker) agents execute them in parallel, alongside a Gunshi (strategist) role. A single typed command, for example to build a REST API, is delegated down the hierarchy and the results are shown on a live dashboard while the user waits.

It supports Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, GitHub Copilot, Kimi Code, OpenCode, Cursor and Antigravity as the underlying agent CLIs, coordinated through tmux panes on Linux and macOS, with an automatic subprocess-based fallback on Windows. It remembers user preferences across sessions through a memory MCP server, and installs by cloning the repository and running an included setup script; it requires tmux and bash 4 or later.
