n8n-desk

A desktop and mobile companion app that lets a user talk to their n8n instance in three modes, from a thin chat client up to a local planning agent that edits files using existing n8n workflows as its tools.

n8n-desk

n8n-desk is a companion app for the workflow automation platform n8n, aimed at closing the gap between n8n's capability and the friction of triggering and checking on workflows through a browser editor. It offers three modes: Chat, a thin client that only routes messages to an existing n8n Chat Hub agent with no local file access or surprise actions; Cowork, a local planning agent that reads and writes files in a chosen working directory using the user's existing n8n workflows as its tools; and a third mode for processing local files with those same automations.

The project states plainly that it does not run arbitrary code: the agent's only hands are n8n workflows and sandboxed file access, so everything it does is auditable, reversible and bounded by whatever the connected n8n instance already allows.

At the time of writing it is pre-release, with no installers or downloads yet available.
