news-summarization-id fine-tunes IndoBART-v2 or google/mt5-small to produce a headline and a two-to-three sentence paragraph summary from an Indonesian news article, using the IndoNLG, Liputan6 and IndoSum datasets for data preparation, training and evaluation. Separate scripts handle data preparation, training, evaluation with ROUGE-1, ROUGE-2 and ROUGE-L, and inference in headline or summary mode.

It targets AMD GPUs through ROCm: an IndoBART-v2 fine-tune fits on a single MI210 in fp16, and the project notes that an MI300 roughly halves epoch time compared with the consumer card it was otherwise trained on.

It is written in Python and released under the MIT license.
