NextClaw

An open-source, local-first personal AI assistant aimed at long-term use, that keeps conversations, files, research and generated documents together in one task and can follow up later through scheduled work.

NextClaw

NextClaw is being built toward a long-term AI partner that understands a user's goals, takes useful initiative and keeps improving itself, though the project states this full scope is still in progress and not yet fully tested. Today it can discuss questions, analyze material, complete work and follow up through scheduled tasks, keeping the conversation, local files, web research and generated documents together rather than scattered across separate steps.

Users choose how tasks run, through a native engine or by driving Codex, Claude Code, OpenCode or Hermes underneath, and can run it locally, on a NAS or on a server they control. It is open source and treats its own CLI as a first-class way to use the assistant alongside the desktop application, which supports macOS, Windows, Linux, Docker and cloud VMs.
