# Nextcloud MCP Server

A production-ready MCP server that connects AI assistants to a Nextcloud instance, giving them CRUD access to notes, calendars, contacts, files, and other Nextcloud apps through natural language.

Nextcloud MCP Server is a standalone Model Context Protocol server that connects large language models such as Claude, GPT, and Gemini to a Nextcloud instance. It exposes more than 110 MCP tools for deep CRUD operations across Nextcloud apps, letting an assistant create notes, manage calendars, organize contacts, and work with files through natural language.

It runs independently of Nextcloud itself, in Docker, a virtual machine, Kubernetes, or locally, and connects over Nextcloud's API using a host, username, and app password rather than a login password. It can run locally with no installation required, or with Docker for full features including semantic search, and integrates with MCP clients such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, and IDEs, or with Nextcloud's own built-in assistant.

It is written in Python under the AGPL-3.0 license, with Kubernetes deployment supported through a companion Helm chart.
