nnn
A tiny, fast, nearly zero-configuration terminal file manager with a plugin system for disk usage analysis, batch renaming, previews and more.
nnn is a full-featured terminal file manager that is small, close to zero-configuration, and fast, with a typical binary size around 100 KB and resident memory usage under 3.5 MB. It can analyze disk usage, batch rename files, launch other applications and act as a file picker, and its plugin repository adds further capabilities such as live previews, mounting and unmounting disks, finding and listing files, diffing files or directories, and uploading files.
The project favors integer arithmetic over floating point, minimizes disk reads and writes, and works in an 8-color terminal as well as with 256-color xterm support, with a one-column mode for smaller terminals. It runs on the Raspberry Pi, Termux on Android, Linux, macOS, BSD, Haiku, Cygwin and WSL, across desktop environments or in a purely command-line setup, and separate Vim and Neovim plugins integrate it with those editors.
nnn is written in C, is POSIX-compliant, and does not collect user data without confirmation.
