# Novu

Open-source communication infrastructure that sends notifications across inbox, email, SMS, push and chat channels through one API, and connects AI agents to those same channels through a unified conversation model.

Novu gives products and agents a single API and conversation model for reaching users on the channels they already use, including an embeddable in-app inbox, email, SMS, push notifications, chat, Slack, Microsoft Teams and Telegram. For products, it provides a workflow engine with branching and per-channel conditions, a digest engine that batches multiple notifications into one message, a no-code email editor, and an embeddable component for notifications and user preferences, so a team does not have to build a provider integration and webhook handler for every channel itself.

Its Agent Communication Infrastructure extends the same foundation to AI agents already built elsewhere: it receives inbound messages from each channel, normalizes them into one consistent shape, routes them to the agent, and sends the agent's replies back out, so an agent connects to a channel once instead of through a custom handler per platform.

It is written in TypeScript.
